Hasselblad & ewa-marine Sponsorship

Nigel's RNLI project continues to go from strength to strength - we are proud to announce that Hasselblad and ewa-marine are now sponsoring the project.

'Working closely with Hasselblad, ewa-marine, Cameras Underwater and the RNLI has been a real team effort' comments Nigel.

With help from Ben Boswell and Nicky West at Hasselblad the optimum kit was assembled - a H3DII-39 with a variety of lenses and a 100GB Imagebank.

An introduction from Jenny Rosenfeld at Cameras Underwater provided the link to Christian Schmidt of ewa-marine. Using the actual Hasselblad kit, ewa promptly set about making bespoke waterproof housings for both camera and imagebank.

Finally, Mark Criddle, coxswain of Torbay Lifeboat (the lifeboat that Nigel is based with) made safety lines that will keep photographer and camera together in the worst of sea conditions!

'We now have a fully waterproofed H3D kit and are able to shoot direct to memory cards or the imagebank whatever the weather' says Nigel.

The above image shows Barra Islands Severn Class Lifeboat whilst on exercise with the MCA helicopter fromĀ Stornoway. Nigel was shooting on the Hasselblad H3DII-39 whilst tethered to the 100GB Imagebank. Both Camera and Imagebank were sealed in their bespoke waterproof housings manufactured by ewa-marine.
